Aedes de Venustas - Cierge de Lune

Cierge de Lune embraces sharp, crystalline notes and a deep, nocturnal hum of spiced vanilla intertwined with wisps of incense.

For his first collaboration with Aedes de Venustas in 2016, perfumer Fabrice Pellegrin drew from a rich portfolio.

The Madagascar vanilla used for the composition is the most faithful to the natural ingredient. It is woodier and more amber-like than its Tahitian counterpart, with a hint of tan leather. This vanilla forms the heart of the composition, revealing a darker side. An airy breath of hedione transmutes the luscious pod into a cactus flower, its pristine petals plumped up by ylang-ylang.

To add vibrancy and luminosity, sparkling pink pepper casts moonlight reflections into the velvety blend, while black pepper creates an intriguing thread with mineral effects similar to incense, hinting at the brand’s olfactory theme, down to the resinous and smoky notes of dark chocolate.

Then, in a final metamorphosis, musky ambrox, underscored by a soft suede accord, transforms the nocturnal bloom into a dark second skin.
